The Wine Merchant, which was acquired by Dona Bertarelli and her husband Yann Guichard in 2017, benefits from the private investors’ long-term outlook and the means to achieve its ambition.

Yann Guichard

A French national, Yann Guichard manages his investments in Private Equity and Real Estate while pursuing his sports career. He is the Chairman, co-founder and skipper of the multihull professional sailing team, Spindrift racing, which is based in La Trinité-sur-Mer in Brittany. In both business and sporting endeavours, Yann Guichard’s ambition is to innovate and deliver top performance, with the support of a solid, professionally run team. As a professional sailor and former Olympian, he has completed more than 20 transatlantic multi-hull crossings, one around the world, and set many records throughout his career.

Dona Bertarelli

Dona Bertarelli is a Swiss philanthropist, investor and sportswoman. Dona Bertarelli is Special Adviser for the Blue Economy for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). She co-chairs the Bertarelli Foundation and is a patron of the Womanity Foundation. Her Family Office, Ledunfly SA, was established to serve the personal business interests and philanthropic activities of Dona Bertarelli, and her husband, Yann Guichard. As an investor, with assets in hospitality and real estate, she focuses on long-term value creation. Dona Bertarelli is the co-founder of Spindrift racing. In 2010 and 2014, as skipper, she won the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. In 2016, Dona Bertarelli became the fastest woman to sail around the world, after completing the Jules Verne Trophy record attempt.
